Let’s be honest, we all have that peach fuzz and nothing beats a fresh and dewy complexion, but not everyone loves showing off their bare skin. Thankfully, there’s epiblading, otherwise referred to as dermaplaning, microplaning or epidermal levelling to get your skin at its best.
So, what is epiblading?
Epiblading is a procedure whereby the top layer of skin is delicately exfoliated with a surgical blade. In addition to redundant skin cells being removed, this procedure removes peach fuzz (also known as vellus hair) from your face.
Note: your peach fuzz will not grow back thicker or darker—it will grow back in the same colour and consistency.

The blade passes over the skin in smooth, even motions, some people even fall asleep!
You can expect your smooth, glowy skin to stick around for about three weeks.
THE EXPERIENCE
Before your Epiblading/Dermaplaning treatment in our Dubbo Skin and Laser Clinic, you’ll have an in depth consultation to help create a personalised treatment plan for you. This is based on an assessment of the treatment area, as well as your medical history. Client safety and care is of the utmost importance to all of us, and therefore this will ensure your happiness and well-being, and that you receive the results you deserve.
Before the treatment begins
We will cleanse and sterilise the skin. Using a 10 gauge surgical blade, your skin is held taut with one hand, and at a 45 degree angle the blade will move in short, swift strokes to remove redundant old skin cells and peach fuzz.
After the epiblading, an enzyme mask is applied for 5-10 mins followed by Hair Halt which a topical serum designed to inhibit hair growth. Hair Halt blocks DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) from converting to its active form, to inhibit hair growth and slow down cell growth rate.
The entire treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes.
It’s a relaxing procedure that simply requires you to sit back and drift off if you so wish. Your skin will be left hair free, smoother, glowing and soft to the touch. You’ll also notice a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles straight away, and a much more even skin tone.
Epiblading is a completely safe skin treatment, with no reports of major skin complications or painful side effects.
Post-treatment
Your skin will feel immediately smoother and will appear visibly brighter. You may experience mild redness that will resolve within an hour.
Over the following few days your skin may feel ‘rough’ or ‘sandy’. This is the hair growing back in with a blunt end which will soften within 24-48 hours.
No downtime is required, and you will be able to resume daily activities straight away.

Number Of Treatments
Epiblading is an ongoing treatment recommended every 4-6 weeks and can be done in combination with many of our other treatments to intensify results. This treatment program is only a guide and will differ.
Best Suited For
Epilblading is great for clients who are dreading that upcoming waxing appointment and looking for an alternate solution, clients who have had laser hair reduction and is left with 'fluffy hair or peach fuzz' or as a pre-event treatment – people often report glowing skin and smoother make-up application.
It is not recommended for those experiencing active breakouts or those with very dry flaky skin.
